Brown pelicans usually mate between the ages of 3-5 years of age. Sometimes they will make their nest in the tops of trees but usually they tend to make them on the ground.Usually a flock of pelican's will nest in the same area. Typically the male brings materials to the female while the female builds the nest. She will usually lay her eggs between the months of March until May. Since the pelican doesn't have a natural enemy the nests are fairly safe except for in the event of natural disaster or human disturbance.
